The Educational Register has been published annually since 1941 and available on the web since 1996. It is the oldest free guide to both independent schools and independent camps for boys and girls 6 to 18.

Representation in the Educational Register is limited by intent, giving readers of our guide and visitors to our site an opportunity to choose from a select group of independent schools and camps without being confused by the scores of listings necessarily found in a complete directory. The editors of the Register are familiar with the schools and camps represented here and can speak from personal experience about each program.

The timely and informative articles in the Educational Register are written by the school heads and camp directors whose programs are represented in the Register, and are aimed specifically at families with school and camp age children. They are extremely helpful to parents who are just beginning their search for an independent school or camp.

Over the years the publishers of the Educational Register have traveled throughout North America and Europe visiting more than 1200 boarding schools, day schools, summer schools and summer camps. The knowledge we have gained from meeting school heads and camp directors and seeing their programs in operation is available without charge to parents through our free referral service.
