Educators will be interested to know that a complete collection of the print edition of The Vincent-Curtis Educational Register, published from 1941 through 2009, is available for research purposes at the Monroe C. Gutman Library of the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Special Collections Department offers rich and varied resources for studying the history of elementary and secondary education in the United States. The holdings mainly consist of historical publications including collections of textbooks, public school annual reports, summer camp catalogs and private school catalogs.  The Private School Catalogs Collection, containing about 7,000 items, includes long runs of prospectuses, catalogs, bulletins and registers from individual private schools in America from the 1830s to the early 1960s. A particular strength is the presence of many early documents from academies and seminaries for women. For research assistance, please email special_collections@gse.harvard.edu.

The Educational Register, the oldest free parent guide to private/independent schools, colleges and summer camps, continues to feature new articles each year by private school heads and directors of summer programs. For further information, please email authors@vincentcurtis.com.
